Meet Dr. Christina Marcelus

Dr. Christina Marcelus is a board-certified dermatologist and graduate of Emory University School of Medicine’s Dermatology Residency Program. Originally from New York, she has built a career defined by leadership, innovation, and a commitment to expanding access to high-quality dermatologic care.
Dr. Marcelus has a strong clinical interest in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), complex medical dermatology, skin of color, and hair disorders, while also providing comprehensive care across general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with thoughtful, personalized care to help patients feel confident and supported throughout their skin journey.
Born into a first-generation Haitian American family, Dr. Marcelus forged her own path into medicine, overcoming financial and systemic barriers to become a leader in dermatology. She earned her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University and holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Brandeis University.
Her research background includes work at Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the National Cancer Institute at the NIH, where she contributed to impactful research in skin cancer and translational medicine. Her work has been published in leading journals including Genome Medicine and the Journal of Clinical Investigation.
Dr. Marcelus is especially passionate about improving access to dermatologic care through innovation, telemedicine, education, and technology-driven solutions that better serve underserved and historically overlooked communities. She founded Cutis MD with the vision of creating a modern, physician-led dermatology practice that blends medical expertise, aesthetics, education, and compassionate care in a refined and approachable environment.
Known for her patient-centered philosophy and forward-thinking approach, Dr. Marcelus is committed to delivering comprehensive dermatologic care that helps patients achieve healthy, confident skin while continuing to advance the future of dermatology through leadership, advocacy, and innovation.
